Formula for calculating the density of filament

ρ: Density (Density) unit g/cm3

m: Weight (Mass) unit g

v: Volume (Volume) unit cm3

example

We have 1 kg of PLA filament and know the total length is 335 meters, then we substitute the values ​​into the density formula and get the density approximately = 1,000 grams.

Density = Weight / Volume

Density = 1,000 / [(3.14*0.875/10)*2]*33,500

Density = 1.241 g/cm3
