The Snapmaker U1 is an FDM 3D printer featuring four toolheads in one machine, designed to solve the classic problems of multicolor printing: the time lost purging old colors from the nozzle and the material wasted. Filament Switching in 5 Seconds with SnapSwap™

Typical 3D printers using a filament changer system often spend more time purging old colors from the nozzle than actually printing. However, with four toolheads pre-heated and each loaded with its own filament, the SnapSwap™ system allows the U1 to switch colors or materials simply by swapping toolheads, reducing waiting time from about 2 minutes to approximately 5 seconds per switch.
Virtually No Purging When Changing Colors
Filament changer printers must "purge" or expel all of the old color filament before starting a new color, leading to wasted usable material. The U1, however, only purges a small amount of truly degraded material at the start of a print or during flow rate calibration. This significantly reduces waste by up to 80% on every print job.
Precise and Robust Locking with Kinematic Coupling
