HIPS eSun filament (High Impact Polystyrene)

Description

eSUN HIPS Filament

Dissolvable 3D Printing Support Material

HIPS stands for High Impact Polystyrene and has properties similar to ABS. HIPS is soluble in limonene solvent, therefore it can be used as a support material for printing because of its good solubility in limonene.

Key features

  • Perfectly soluble: HIPS dissolves completely in Limonene solution without leaving any residue on the base model surface, resulting in a smooth and beautiful finish.
  • Equivalent to ABS performance: It has properties and printing performance similar to ABS filament, making it easy to use together in multi-nozzle printers.
  • High strength: Distinguished by its high toughness and high impact resistance, along with excellent heat resistance properties.
  • Suitable for complex structures: Ideally suited for use as a support material when printing highly complex shapes or those with partially closed cavities, when printing with base materials such as ABS, PETG, etc.
  • It can be used as a support line for ABS and ASA materials.

Basic printing instructions

For best results:

  • Extruder Temperature: 230–270°C

  • Bed Temperature: 100–115°C

  • Fan Speed: 0%

  • Caution: Due to HIPS' high shrinkage rate, careful heat treatment is necessary, and printing in a closed-chamber printer is recommended to minimize warping.
